Being able to reset whatever emotion you're feeling (whether it's on the positive spectrum like enthusiasm, feeling lucky or on the more challenging spectrum like feeling angry, upset, frustrated, sad) to a more neutral feeling of 'calm' is a true superpower.

Resetting is an opportunity that we can each create to clean the slate and begin again. It brings a person back to where they want to be and more importantly, who they want to be. Most of us like ourselves better when we have a sense of being able to effectively manage our lives in times of stress and chaos.
It's one of the key skills for emotional intelligence, but it amplifies your results in all different areas like managing conflicts, having difficult conversations, decision making, concentration, leadership in turbulent times...
But unless you've trained to be in law enforcement or a monk, it's a skill few have been trained for specifically. And that's a pity, because it's a skill that can be learned.

Talk about it

Have an insightful conversation with your colleagues about how to implement each sub-skill in your day-to-day.
